There are a lot of things to learn when you start out in insurance Kim began his career in data science in 2017 when he worked at Healthy Bytes, a New York-based healthcare startup. He used the computer language Python to look at insurance claim data and do exploratory data analysis. He also built an Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) pipeline to get data from the MongoDB document database. Parsing the information, he created visualizations using Tableau software and Python for company and management reports. Kim also used machine-learning algorithms to look at health insurance data in order to make sure that it was in line with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) laws. In all of these jobs, he reported directly to the company's CEO and CTO.
